Koi QuiltClick here to go directly to photos of: Front | Detail | Back I had been collecting koi fabrics for many years and knew that I wanted to use them with oriental fabrics in some kind of design that would show off the fabulous koi fish. When I got the idea to use circles to give the idea of portholes looking into a pond it seemed like the perfect solution. Using oriental fabrics around the ‘portholes’ furthered the Japanese feel of the quilt. Koi have an interesting history and are thought of as symbols of love and friendship, fitting for a quilt.
